TopDogs Oy ("we", "us", or "our") is a Finnish software company based in Helsinki. This privacy policy describes how we handle information in connection with our macOS applications TopTrack and Cypher, as well as our website at topdogs.one.
We built our apps with a simple principle: your data belongs to you. We do not operate servers, collect analytics, or track usage. Everything stays on your Mac.
We do not collect any personal data. Our apps do not require accounts, do not phone home, and do not transmit any information to us. We have no servers that receive data from our apps.
Specifically, we do not collect:
TopTrack is a time-tracking application. All time entries, projects, clients, and settings are stored locally on your Mac using the app's local database. No data is sent to TopDogs.
TopTrack offers optional integration with the following third-party services:
If you choose to enable sync, TopTrack communicates directly with the chosen service's API using credentials you provide. Your API keys are stored securely in Apple Keychain on your Mac. When sync is active, your time entries and project data are sent to and received from the third-party service's servers according to their privacy policies.
Sync is entirely optional. TopTrack works fully offline without connecting to any external service. You can enable or disable sync at any time without losing your local data.
Cypher is an encrypted note-taking application. All notes are encrypted using AES-256 encryption and stored locally on your Mac. Notes never leave your device. There is no cloud sync, no remote storage, and no way for us to access your notes.
We do not have access to your encryption passwords. If you forget your password, we cannot recover your encrypted data.
Our website at topdogs.one is a static site. We do not use cookies, analytics services, tracking pixels, or any form of visitor monitoring. We do not collect any information about visitors to our website.
Beyond the optional integrations listed above for TopTrack, our apps do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. We do not use third-party SDKs that collect user data.
Our apps are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
All app data is stored locally on your Mac. API credentials (for optional third-party sync in TopTrack) are stored in Apple Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption. We recommend keeping your macOS installation up to date for the best security.
Since we do not collect or store any of your data, there is nothing for us to provide, modify, or delete. Your data lives entirely on your Mac and is under your full control. You can delete all app data at any time by removing the applications.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
This privacy policy is governed by the laws of Finland and applicable European Union regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
